Here are images of garments created in my class last Sunday at A Work of Heart. It was a wonderful day and we all had a fun time. Sadly I didn't get pics of everyone's creations.

Botanical Dye Print Class in Ashland, Mo.
I have to thank Amy, Drew, and Deb for taking wonderful photos of the workshop at Sharon's in Ashland. It was less than three weeks ago but seems much longer.
Sharon's studio is a down-home, inviting, inspiring place and we all created magic from nature and cloth.

Workshops Past and Future
Fabulous class at Making Ends Meet!
I've put off posting because in my mind it was overwhelming how much I think I need to post.
I was off on a journey for two weeks, traveling to Missouri, Kentucky, and Indiana, both teaching and visiting friends. It was a marvelous time getting to teach, meet new people and visit old friends.
On Wednesday March 12th I flew to St. Louis, rented a car, stayed with my friend Janet and then traveled to Shelbyville, Ky. on Thursday. I stayed with my friend Leslie, owner of Making Ends Meet where I would teach 2 workshops. Friday we got things ready for the weekend workshops and then we went shopping at thrift and antique stores. We made the shop owners very happy!
Making Ends Meet is a fabulous studio to host workshops in! Everyone made me feel so at home and the studio has everything (including a mondo circular saw, lol!). This was Saturday's botanical dye prints that were turned into cloth journals.
Rusty safety pin print became a family (notice the faces penned on?).
Rusty marks became a birdbath image
Sunday's workshop we dyed silk ribbon and stamped our words on muslin strips to create affirmation scarves. And I the instructor learned a few things too, such as being introduced to Dye-na-flow pigment dyes!
I had planned to travel to Indiana on Monday to see Jack and Karen but freezing rain prevented me from doing that so I stayed an extra day with Leslie and was able to create these little dye printed booklets to give to two local floral shops that had donated flowers and greenery for us to use for the botanical dye print.
Tuesday I was able to travel to Indiana, stay one night and then venture back to St. Louis. The next weekend I gave another botanical dye printing class that I will save for my next post.
I will also be listing information about my friend Sharon Kilfoyle coming to give a two day workshop on designing and making nuno felt to shibori dye with the fabric designed to be made into a garment. This will be May 31 and June 1, 2014.
