Welcome to My Studio "Where Bloggers Create 2014"

I hesitated to participate in Karen Valentines' blog party because when I had the time to take photos I didn't have time to "straighten" up.  I thought about it and realized that this is how I work, how I roll. You may see sewing machines sitting on the floor as I had just come back from teaching and that's where they got put.  You will see steamers on the table and dye stuff on the counters and all sorts of random items that are not "put away".  Sometimes it's even messier than this, this is reality, this is a working studio.

I have been a fiber artist for many years.  I created handwoven clothing for several of those years, dyeing my own yarns and silks for linings.  I hand dye ribbon, lace, vintage fabrics, silks, scarves, clothing, you name it I've probably dyed it.  I use fiber reactive dyes, acid dyes, natural dyes and in recent years I've become enamored with using leaves and flowers to create dye prints on fabric and paper.

I am always on the hunt for vintage laces, doilies, unloved garments to up cycle, and vintage fabrics and linens to incorporate in garments and fabric books.

See my gallery page for samples of my work and see the events page for places I'll be teaching and vending in the USA.

To see other artists who are participating in the blog party you need to click on the button on the right which takes you to Karen's blog then scroll down to the bottom to see all the artists links you can click on.

Without further ado, welcome.

The door directly across from the entry goes into the storage area and then out the back.  This space is   for storage of props for vending and tubs of equipment for teaching.

Your studio has changed since I was last there. It looks even more wonderful and inviting than it did.

I'm Smiling because it is so True, our Creative Spaces are often Work In Progress and not Pristine. The only reason mine happened to be presentable for my first ever Participation was because I had just reclaimed it and finished a blank canvas makeover of the entire Space! *LOL* Otherwise it's chronic disorganization and Art supplies scattered everywhere! *smiles* Thank you for Inviting us in and allowing us to Enjoy your Personal Sanctuary where you follow your Creative Bliss. It's such a Blessing to have a Creative Space separate from where we do our Daily Living... and I'm so Delighted to have finally reclaimed mine and not have to pick everything up and put it away anymore because Life got in the way of Art! *LOL* This actually made me appreciate having a Studio this time around all the more since it had been so long without one!

Creative places are supposed to be messy. So glad you participated today so we could stop in and see all the wonderful stuff you have! The clothes look so fun, I would love to stop in and play dress up.

I love to see a messy studio where things happen and the creativity is just exploding.

A messy studio means creations are in progress. Love your studio and how lucky you are to step out and see the ocean. How wonderful that would be. I love your clothing that you are creating. I have marked you as a favorite on Etsy.

I love 'how you rock and roll'. I stopped to comment before I even looked at your post and space! I knew I would forget. My space is similar. You might see sewing machines sittin' around. I had it a little easy entering. I hadn't been sewing in a few weeks. My space would have not been presentable! I am glad you went ahead and link. I am off to read your post now!

I love what I can see of the clothing, Lorri! I think it's great that you showed your space in its real life view. Mine isn't too far off what I shared except for that small table usually has more on top of it {which really I just moved to the shelf below}. Being such a small space, I don't often have too much going on at once. I would like to get something to put my works in progress in just in case I decide to start something else before I finish the first thing I started.

I'm so glad you decided to link up Lori! It's fun to see pretty studio's all cleaned up for company, but it is also a treat to get to see them in their "natural form"!!! LOL! It was wonderful to see where you do your lovely work!

I love your printer's tray filled with baubles and the lace drawers. It must be fun to dye fabric. Someday I would like to do that. Thanks for sharing your space!

Liking the way you roll!

I love how messy and honestly 'in process' your studio is. It looks like your priority is on creating rather than 'getting ready to create' or tidying up to procrastinate on creating, like I often do!
