Putting My Life on Hold ~ Cancellations

It's finally sinking in how serious my eye surgery was. I'v been told by my doctor I'll have at lest six more weeks of being still, quiet, and no focus work. I've had to cancel the May Day show in Santa Cruz. I've had to cancel going to Southern California for the the Create Retreat in May. I may have to cancel going to Missouri in June. It's very hard for me to lay around the house and do nothing, but I'm trying to stay positive and follow my doctor instruction so my eyes can heal properly.

I want to thank everyone who has sent me well wishes, I really appreciate it.

BTW my mom is not typing on the computer...It's still me Tony (her son) I hope I am scoring lots of brownie points for this..lol jkjk

Thanks Tony for helping your Mom and keeping us informed.
Six weeks of vacation! I'm sure all the small things that have been overlooked will have time for some attention - if only in the mind.
Be well soon,
Kim

I know you're disappointed, but it'll be worth the patience. Sounds like the family is pitching in, so let them spoil you.
Take care.

Lorri, you're continuously in my thoughts and prayers! I hope you have a recorder to save all of your thoughts and ideas during this time of healing and rejuvenation! Also hope you're enjoying nice music and listening to books on tape to help pass the time. Sending good vibes your way!
You have a dear son to help you out while you recuperate!

Lorrie, what a great son you have to blog on your behalf!!

I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to do any kind of work or reading while you recuperate but eyesight is SO important to us as artists. Thank you for sharing the info on cholesterol as a factor in eye sight problems!! I did not know that, but I did have my own eyes checked last week and will be receiving my first pair of reading glasses soon. As Mick Jagger once sang:

"What a drag it is getting old" =-\

I agree that audio books will come in handy and you may want to check out a great radio show that is available online called This American Life - they have LOTS of great stories you can listen to online for FREE and you may want to start with "First Day" or search for the story "Squirrel Cop" - VERY FUNNY STUFF!! =-)

Tony - big, big points for doing this for mom. Tell Lori how much we all think of her, and make her do what docs tell her to do.

LORRI... SO SORRY TO READ OF YOU EYE PROBLEMS AND SURGERY.... I WILL PUT YOU IN MY "GOD CAN". When things are out of my control, I put them on a piece of paper, and put them in a special can that was a coffee can in another life, and turn the problem over to God. He hasn't failed me yet. So you can count on a speedy and total recovery...Catherine in Kalamazoo.
