Another Memorial Service

Last Sat. I attended a memorial service for a friend who passed away. It was cancer again. She was my age, left behind two children same age as mine, 17 and 20. She won’t get to see her daughter graduate high school. I first met Ginger in 1994 when our two youngest were in preschool together. Ginger had just moved here from LA and discovered she had breast cancer. I watched her go through the treatment and become whole again. But all these years later cancer came back. She tried treatments but they failed and she is now gone. The service was so sweet with a slide show of pictures of her life, people told stories, and friends of hers sang and played a beautiful song. I am so tired of hearing about and knowing people with cancer. I swear I am going to buy everyone one of these shirts as if that will keep it away.

One of the bad things about being an adult is that we have to acknowledge and deal with the cruel realities of life. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.

So sorry that you've lost someone you care about! That is so sad. I am a lucky survivor but I need that T-shirt!
